How often do we tense against what life brings us? A stalled car, a spilled coffee, an unwelcome change—and immediately we're fighting reality itself. But what if the real problem isn't what happened, but our insistence that it shouldn't have happened? There's a profound difference between allowing something to be real and liking it. Today, we explore that difference.
 
The focus for today is:
When you turn toward something difficult, when you allow yourself to be sane, you ease into peacefulness.
 
Today's message is inspired by Jan Frazier, author of the book: The Freedom of Being: At Ease with What Is
Resistance is a tensing-against something—and it compounds suffering by piling negativity on top of what's already difficult. Accepting reality doesn't mean approving of it or becoming passive. It means seeing what is, clearly and honestly, so you can move forward with your full resources intact. As Jan Frazier writes, "The pain of resistance comes of investing in what's deeply known to be madness: the effort to undo what cannot be undone."
