11 03 on experiencing shame and the inner critic

Life throws curve balls. A troubling diagnosis. A sudden loss. A job ending unexpectedly. A crisis that shakes everything you thought was solid. In those moments, we're knocked off center, struggling to find our footing again. But here's what matters: resilience isn't something you either have or don't have. Resilience is the learned capacity to cope with any level of adversity, from the small annoyances of daily life to the struggles and sorrows that break our hearts.

Today's message is inspired by Linda Graham, MFT, author of the book: Resilience: Powerful Practices for Bouncing Back from Disappointment, Difficulty, and Even Disaster

Strengthening self-acceptance and trust in yourself as resilient is a daily practice. You practice, little and often, to hum along in your range of resilience and recover when choppy seas or full-scale hurricanes threaten to throw you off course.
