How often do we find ourselves caught in the grip of our feelings, convinced that we can't be at peace until something external changes? Today's inspiration offers a different path—one where we learn to observe our emotions rather than be consumed by them. When we create space between ourselves and our feelings, we discover something remarkable: the permanent aspect of who we are has never been happy or sad, scared or guilty. Conscious awareness is permanently peaceful and beyond the emotional realm.
 
The focus for today is:
You are not your emotions. Yes, you have emotions, but the permanent you is not emotional.

Sandy Newbigging shares a powerful practice: when emotions arise, name them, locate them in your body, give them a color, and simply watch them. This simple act of observation creates space—and in that space, emotions naturally disperse like water on a hotplate or the sun parting clouds. Rather than resisting our feelings or waiting for life circumstances to change before we can be at peace, we can recognize that emotions are simply "energy in motion" within us. When we stop fighting them and start harnessing their power, we open the door to both healing and creating the life we desire.
