Sometimes we get so caught up in the rush of daily life that we forget to notice what's happening right now—this breath, this moment, this feeling. We're either reliving the past or rehearsing the future, rarely fully here. But what if something as simple as a scent could bring you back to yourself? What if the fragrance of lavender or chamomile could anchor you in the present moment, creating a bridge between your racing thoughts and your peaceful center?

Today's message is inspired by Heather Dawn Godfrey, author of the book: Essential Oils for Mindfulness and Meditation: Relax, Replenish, and Rejuvenate
Through decades of clinical practice, Godfrey observed how essential oils draw people's attention and awareness into the moment, triggering psycho-emotional responses that soften facial expressions, calm breathing, and create feelings of being relaxed and grounded. She describes essential oils as "a multidynamic gift presented by nature—offered, it seems, to accompany our journey through life, through the ups and downs and the joys and challenges, like a supportive friend." Combined with mindfulness—an ancient practice now embraced by mainstream health care as a viable self-help remedy—essential oils offer a practical and pleasurable path to healing and well-being. At her age, Godfrey knows there's no magic formula, but she's found that these simple tools provide positive ways of coping with everyday stresses and joys.

About the Author
Heather Dawn Godfrey, PGCE, BSc, is an aromatherapist, fellow of the International Federation of Aromatherapists, and an aromatherapy teacher. She has published a number of articles and research papers exploring the benefits of essential oils, such as how they can be applied in the management of ADHD. Heather was introduced to the philosophical tenets and practice of complementary medicine and meditation in the early '70's. She worked for Robert Tisserand when he first developed his essential oil business in London, later completing a BSc (Joint Hon) degree in Complementary Medicine and Counselling, Masters certificates in Mindfulness and Supervision of Counsellors, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), among other qualifications.
